Doomsday?

DATE: DECEMBER 20TH, 2012
TIME: 3:42 PM
Well guys, it's the last day on earth today. Tomorrow is supposed to be the be all end all of earth - at least to my understanding of it. Certainly we all should be saying our heartfelt goodbyes and/or trying to put together a survival pack. However, I don't think that's the case today as people are holiday shopping at the mall and getting their cars washed (including yours-truly). I for one am confident that it will not occur and that we will be continuing on our merry way into the 25th for some much needed family bonding and delious cuisine. Oh Christmas, how excited I am for you. I really want to see the (hopefully) joyful expressions on my family and friends faces when they open their gifts. I can't ignore the fact that I also wish to see my gifts! Oh consumerism, how I loath thee sometimes.

The giving and receiving of gifts tends to compensate in some manner for the less than happy times throughout the year i.e arugments and such, but I think at least that Christmas serves as a premature resetting of sorts before New Years day.  New Years day, of course, is the ultimate resetting period. A new year, a whole new time to set your life in a beneficial direction! I'll probably blog about my "resolutions" another time.

Getting back into the swing of things.

DATE: DECEMBER 11TH, 2012
TIME: 1:54 PM

Well, hello there. It seems like I haven't written anything lately and clearly I am in need of so much needed ranting. I suppose that's one purpose of this blog, as an outlet for my need to rant to someone or something in some manner. Todays rant will mainly consist of my lack of things. Not the typical: "Oh I need pants or that specific pair of speakers", no actually, I will be ranting about my lack of things to do. I find myself in a constant state of needing to do things. But I've realized recently that this want to do things stems from my readings of different blogs and how exciting they make their lives look. I do realize people tend to focus less on the mundane and everday nit-picking and more on the exciting and heart-warming events that bring some much needed sunshine to their daily lives. So that's my goal to do that as well.

So as I reflect on today and what has perspired in the 7 hours I've been up and about I realize that it is quite beautiful outside from an indoor (and heated) perspective. This is one of those days I'm sure photographers use as optimal light for winterey pictures. I would totally do exactly that at the moment if I felt any inclination whatsoever to go outside but alas, it's the coldest day that is has been this year (or feels like it at least) so I will probably sit and admire it from afar. Now usually that would be viewed as a lazy way of looking at it but I honestly think sometimes you need to just sit back and admire.
On an unrelated and less lazy note - I finished my last exam today! It is always bittersweet when you finish a course in my opinion because it signifies the end of a knowledgeable journey. The class was called Myth, Magic and Shamanism and was taught by a wonderful and energetic professor who kept us engaged through interesting subject matter as well as unexpected outbursts. "That one time at witch camp..."
